Virtual Forbidden City



The Forbidden City: Beyond Space and Time is a partnership between the Palace Museum and IBM. The goal of the project is to provide the means for a world-wide audience to celebrate and explore aspects of Chinese culture and history.

Roman Opalka


Hace un tiempo en una cena, mi gran amigo Jorge Soto me habló de este artista.
Roman Opalka (nacio en 1931) es un pintor francés hijo de un inmigrante polaco. Tras su carrera de litógrafo, entre 1951 y 1956 estudió pintura, grafismo y escultura en la Academia de Bellas Artes de Lodz. Si Opalka había abordado con anterioridad en diversas series de obras el fenómeno del tiempo, a partir de 1965 – año en el que comenzó su proyecto titulado 1965/-∞- se consagró exclusivamente a su representación pictórica. A diferencia de On Kawara, en cuya Today Series el presente ocupa una posición singular, Opalka parece interesarse más por una representación del flujo temporal que transcurre de una manera homogénea.
